Imparting quality education in early years
We believe in learning from the extensive research and empirical studies carried out by reputed institutions and learned educators over decades. Our approach is not just to look for the best way to teach letters but to understand how children imbibe literacy/reading habits as a whole over the course of the foundational years. We are proud to stand on the shoulders of giants and develop a program that puts the studies and theories into practice.
Based on our learning, we have articulated our guiding principles which lay the foundation for our programs and effective means to accomplish our aims. Some of the key principles identified are:
- Oral language must be linked to literacy and must be taught concurrently with literacy skills.
- There should be an emphasis on drawing and independent writing as forms of expression.
- Multilingual capacities of children must be developed.
- Every aspect of language has been identified as essential for literacy instruction and learning must be integrated into a comprehensive, concurrent model of literacy instruction.
- Literacy instruction should be seen as a means which will empower children and lead to socio-cultural and socio-political development that teaches them to be autonomous. It is not a stand-alone learning process but one that is closely linked to all aspects of life.
